1- Drink enough water
We can’t say it enough, but the body needs it. When you feel thirsty, your body is already in a dehydration phase and wants you to drink. Being well hydrated with at least 2 liters of water per day plays a fundamental role for our general state. Water ensures the transit of dissolved substances essential to human cells, allows the use of metabolic waste, maintains a constant temperature inside the body … and many other vital things as you will understand.
2- Eat fruits and vegetables
You probably have – like many people – the slogan “eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day” in your head. And that’s good, it should resonate with us at every meal so that we don’t forget them. They add taste and color to all our dishes. And above all, fruits and vegetables are a source of vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants and energy. They are nevertheless low in calories, which makes it possible to fill the big hungers without fear for the silhouette. There are also many ways to cook them. Raw or cooked, baked, steamed, seasoned… there are countless variations.
3- Think about good fats
You still think that eating fat is not good for your body? This is a belief that needs to be revised as soon as possible. Of course, eating too much saturated fat can have devastating effects on the body, but unsaturated fats are essential for our body. As a source of omega 3 and 6, they meet many of the recommended daily requirements and they taste great. Vegetable oils, nuts and seeds, avocados, salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines, herring… are foods rich in unsaturated fats that should be eaten in sufficient quantities for a balanced diet.
4- Eat a variety of foods
To give your body as much goodness as possible, think about varying your diet. Innovate your dishes, try new things, and call on cuisines from around the world. Each culture has its own set of good ideas for boosting the content of your plate. Think also of spices to make the simplest dishes a real gustatory pleasure.
5- Limit industrial sugars
Try to consume as much as possible natural sugars such as honey or maple syrup. Refined sugars should be consumed in limited quantities because they can be very harmful to our health. It has also been proven through different studies that a real addiction to sugar exists. The more you eat, the more you want. Obviously, consuming it from time to time to treat yourself to a little treat is nice, but try to make sugar-free days from time to time.
